We are honoured to invite you to participate in the 8th International Scientific Conference of Medieval Archaeology Military Orders and Their Heritage organized by The Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb in collaboration with The Institute of History of The University of Szeged. The conference will be held on the 9th and 10th of September 2022 at the Lecture Hall of the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb (Zvonimirova 6).

The aim of the conference is presenting new research with regards to presence and activity of Military Orders, the development and transformation of their sites, from their arrival in the middle of the 12th century to the departure of Knights Hospitallers, as well as their heritage that can be traced until modernity. The conference will not only encompass historical and archaeological research, and art historian explorations, but also ethnological, cultural anthropological, bioarchaeological, archaeobotanical, and other relevant research. The emphasis of the conference will be on interdisciplinary work.

The official languages of the conference are Croatian and English. For the participants who will be presenting in Croatian, their title and abstract of the presentation should be in Croatian and English, and the PowerPoint presentation itself in English. The duration of the presentation is limited to 20 minutes.

In your registration please enclose your full name and title, your institution and its address, your email address, the title of your presentation and the abstract. The abstract should contain 200 to 300 words and should be in Croatian and English. Abstracts will be published on the Institutes and milOrd projects websites.
