Sebastijan Stingl has been an adjunct at the Institute of Archaeology (Zagreb) since 2020. He first got his MA degree in Archaeology with emphasis on medieval archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb in 2017. One year later, he obtained an MA in History with the emphasis on medieval history at the same faculty. In 2016, Sebastijan was a recipient of the prestigious scholarship awarded by the City of Zagreb for proficiency in his postgraduate studies. Since 2013 he has continuously been working at archaeological excavation sites. At the archaeological excavations of the churches of St. Matin at Prozorje in Dugo Selo and St. Luke The Evangelist in Novska, as well as on the monastery church of St. Margaret in Bijela, he was the deputy manager of the excavations. He participated in two scientific conferences and also took part in the project called Topographical and field survey of Žumberak mountains. His research areas are military orders, everyday life (with the emphasis on food history) and death (with the emphasis on piety and mortuary practices) in the Middle Ages and the early modern periods in Croatia.
